Picture is going out for several seconds. Audio continues...

We keep losing picture on pretty much all channels.  It disappears for several seconds (black screen) but the audio continues.  The time it is gone is increasing as well as the frequency.  It's not the TV, because it is recorded on the DVR like this, if you rewind etc.  Any ideas?

I have also experienced this I know its not the tv because it did it on my old set and now my new one.

What method are you using to connect the STB to the TV?

I was using the red white and yellow plugs for old set and new set is with hdmi cable the picture blacked out on both sets.
