Since getting the Quantum box, the TV (video and sound) often freezes - have done reboot of box and router (which only temporarily helps), all the in-home agent processes. Problem not dixed. In addition, the DVR often does not record programs that we've setup to record - or, in some cases, records only a few minutes of a program.

I'd recommend swapping the box out for a new one.

It could be one of a few things. Sounds like the STB itself, but do make sure any and all coax splitters in between your Verizon ONT (usually found outside near your power meter) and your STB are the newer splitters that support 2.0 MOCA. These usually have the Verizon name/logo on them. Older STB's did not need these BUT the new Quantum STB's do. If you do, in fact, confirm these are in place and your previous STB (if you upgraded) worked in that location it may noy be RF signal either, but as mentioned initially, a defective STB.
