Tim,
So clicking on the Activate button next to the current non-HM DVR will essentially "buy" the HM DVR upgrade for that box? I am tempted to click on it, but am afraid it will not have a confirm of a purchase warning and I fear a Verizon billing issue more than death.

I hate to contradict Tim, but you CAN control a non-HM DVR remotely. I have a HM-DVR and a standalone DVR. Both are visible on the webpage, and I have scheduled recordings to both from the internet. When you are in the Program Guide and select "Record", there is a drop-down menu that asks which DVR you want to use for this recording.
My account continues to show just a single HM-DVR and one regular DVR.

I have the same problem here. Here is what I would like to do and according to verizon support it is impossible.
1) One Home Media DVR that i can program from the web
2) One HD Set top box without the ability to pause and rewind TV, but can access content on my Home Media DVR
3) One HD DVR with the ability to Pause and rewind TV, and Access content on my Home media DVR, and program from the web
I have had #1 & 2 above running, and went to add #3. When doing so they gave me a QIP 6416(SEEMS OLD). This box cannot be programmed from the web or access anything on my Home DVR.
Has anyone got this set up and running? If so, what is your solution, and model numbers of your boxes?
THanks,
B

DVRs can stream content from a HMDVR, you can only do that on standard STB's

Can or Can't?
If Can't....
Then bascially their is no solution to be able to have a HOme Media dvr with all my recordings. And be able to watch those recordings elsewhere in the house, with the ability to pause and rewind live TV on the other TV's as well.
This is very misleading by Verizon.
