Remote DVR DOESN'T EVER WORK

I'm lost Verizon... no one ever seems to be able to help me but my remote DVR never works.  I can get it working when I restart my cable boxes but that is only temporary as the remote DVR stops working.  It's hardly a useful feature when I have to be home to restart my cable boxes.  Whenever I need to actually use the feature it simply doesn't work.  Please, Verizon, if you are reading this re-map my boxes or whatever it is you have to do on your end.  I'm sick and tired of chatting, emailing, calling, etc... to do the same thing over and over again.  "Reset your cable box... reset your router... etc..."
