Remote lag

Every time I turn my TV on it takes the remote a few seconds to catch up. Changing channels or accessing the guide or pressing any button takes a few seconds before anything happens. It is frustrating and makes the remote almost unsuable. Is that normal or is there something wrong with my setup?

1.  Run the "Fix FIOS TV Issues" tool in the customer support section of the menu.

2.  Replace the batteries. Weak batteries can cause problems before the low battery indicator comes on.

3.  Check the message center on a daily basis.  Unread messages will cause undesired responses to some remote actions.

It has nothing to do with the batteries; it's the motorola set top box has known issues and lag.

Weak batteries WILL cause problems with remote control response.  I have experienced the problem khds120 described.  Replacing the batteries solved the problem.

The batteries may not be the cause of the problem he is having. But in my experience replacing batteries is easy, cheap, and often prevents troubleshooting headaches. When it doesn't work, you can usually find another use for the batteries.

Fresh batteries doesn't fix the problem. Remote lag is ridiculously irritating. So much so, I'm thinking of switching to Time Warner. Now that's sad. FIX THE PROBLEM, FIOS!!! Today!

I have way too much remote lag also - when I called in to tech support they said no one else was having a problem!!!

Mine is especially bad when starting to play a recording - could almost smoke a cigarette before the recorning plays.

Also very bad when trying to exit after making a record episode or record series action - could smoke a small cigar before I can exit the screen where I requested the recording!!!
