Set Top Box

Can someone please tell me if Verizon has come out with a new Set Top Box (without DVR) that has a clock in front?  The current STB, Motorola Model #QIP7100 2, does not have the clock.

Thanks.

There are 5 STB models. The 2500's have a clock, but are SD only. The 6200's have a clock, but are being phased out because they will not be able to receive the newest channel formats. Of the other 3, only the 7100-P2 has no clock. The problem is that Verizon has no system that would allow you to order one of the other 2 models even for an additional fee. Unless you live near a FiOS store that is willing to exchange your STB for one they have in stock, requesting an exchange might just get you another 7100-P2. And if the one you have is not malfunctioning, Verizon might demand a shipping fee just for the opportunity to play the STB lottery.

I am very close to a Fios store so I'll pay them a visit and inquire.  About a year ago when I went to the store to inquire the answer was that there is no STB with a clock with or without fee.  Thanks for your answer.

That's great & all, but I dont remember asking for this hassle.  They said they are going to replace the boxes, not give me a box, that is foreign to every other STB I have had in my lifetime!  I dont remember asking for a box with no clock on it.  I relied on the clock in nearly every room of the house, now they are all gone!! Verizon should provide us with additional alarm clocks to place next to each STB.  Since I was a kid the cable box has always displayed the time, now Verizon decides that we don't get to have it! (How about an option to turn off the clock for people that choose to do so!)
