How can I stop a constant hign noise that's being emitted from my STB?

Please unplug the power cord for 1 minute. Please send a private message back if it doesn't fix this and also include if its a DVR or a regular box.

I have the same issue.  Is there a process to fix the box myself or do I need to return the box for a new one?

I am also experiencing the same problem. It started when I unplugged the box while I moved equipment to a new piece of furniture and switched to a new TV. When I plugged the box back in, well before connecting it to the new TV, the sound - I believe it is the fan running on high continuously - began immediately and has now continued unabated for several days.

I tried the fix mentioned above, i.e. unplugging the box for a minute, but the sound continues and now the box displays E0:24 and there is no signal.
