What model did you get?  The 7xxxx boxes are energy star rated.

if you're cisco, you have to stay cisco unfortunately.  they RARELY do swaps for motorola's in a cisco home.  you can't have both (compatibility) so that means you have to replace everything.

I only have one  fios device. It was installed last week. How do I get it swapped out?  I asked Verizon Tech to bring me an energy star rated DVR.  They do not seem to understand what I want.  Who do I talk to Get it swapped out?

If you only have one cable box, then it shouldn't be too bad, but you'll definetely need a technician to drop by.  The Motorola Set top box's are energy star.  I would say call the store, but I don't they will really have a clue.  you could try taking yourold one there, and tell em you don't have but the one cable box, and you need the motorola instead.  See if they will do it.

I have a resonse for this. but listening to the radio while going to pick up my daughter from the movies, it really makes me wonder what is most important. The talk about or FiOS or the people in the North East US that are suffering what some say is one of, or if not the worst disasters to strike the US. I guess for the rest of us life goes on. And I to still must continue with my daily concerns.

Is your box green?

Are the Cisco STBs no longer Energy Star compliant? I thought they were at date of manufacture when Verizon launched the use of Cisco, but it looks as though the standards have changed? I have all Cisco and notice none have the logo. I just did not notice. I just picked up a new Cisco STB. My computers are energy hogs anyway.

6. Power specifications on in-home hardware

 The concern on this will go away – Verizon is working on the design of other boxes to upgrade them to Star 3

 Verizon currently offers the following Energy Star set top boxes: Four Star 2, and one Star 3. He mentioned that on average, non-ES compliant devices consume 858 kw per month nationwide, while the new Verizon ES compliant devices consume only 12 kw per set top box.

Verizon plans to offer a "Home media Server" - 1 box in home – adapters attached to TV in an attempt to move set top boxes out of the house

When can I get my server? Even though I like my Cisco. Are we behind?

"In 2011, more than 70 percent of the set-top boxes we installed were ENERGY STAR certified. These boxes use approximately 30% less energy in customer homes than previous models. Already, 100 percent of the set-top boxes we’re ordering are also ENERGY STAR certified."

Does this include Cisco boxes? Now this is an eye opener!

Thanks for the response. I was unable to get an energy star model from the Verizon store.  They said since my house is now using cisco they can only give me cisco DVR.  I live in fairfax county.  So it looks like they are converting everyone to Cisco.  So when will I be able to get an energystar rated Cisco DVR? It feels like  verizon and cisco talk the talk but don't walk the walk.  I canceled my fios tv service
