Time Lag between power up STB and TV

When we turn on the TV and STB, we  are waiting about 10 minutes before sound and picture appear on the TV. Is this something we're going to have to get used to, or is there a fix?

Are you using HDMI? I have seen delays upwards of 30 seconds when using HDMI vs RGB on start-up. I prefer RGB since there is less delay on start-up & during SD/HD channel transitions.

 

FWIW, there is NO picture quality advantage when using HDMI for FIOS. It is just more convenient during installation. Most professional installers avoid HDMI when possible to avoid these type of issues.
