Turn off / hide spam, pop-up ads that show up constantly on my TV?

Every time we turn on a set-top box or change what we're doing, we get pop-up, spam ads from Verizon that stop us from doing what we were doing, while we search around the remote, go look for glasses to read the garbage on the TV and generally disrupt what we want while we figure out how to turn the **bleep** things off.

Where is the setting to get rid of these things, or do we just need to go to a different provider?

For my STB/TV On The Remote I Hit:

MENU

scroll down to

SETTINGS

scroll down to

POPUP ALERTS

then to

ENABLE OPTIONS;

Then back to the SETTINGS Menu and up to

TELEVISION ==> PROMOTIONS ==> Click DISABLE

Works For Me - YMMV

 Happy New Year
