TV Audio turns on by itself

I have three TVs using STBs that are watched at various times throughout the day. A couple of times, each of these TVs have turned on by themselves, audio only. It's been after everyone is in bed. I could hear a TV on and went to investigate and found the TV broadcasting the audio only with the STB on. I have been sucessful turing the STB off after. But, geez! This is annoying. Why would this happen?

Same thing happened to me last night and the first time about a year ago. In the middle of the night around 2:30 AM !! very annoying.

This is probably because Verizon sent either a remote reset or a firmware upgrade.

Based on your description(s) I am assuming you have the TV(s)s in question plugged into the rear power outlet and the STB is set to turn the outlet on or off with the STB.  My suggestion would be to not plug the TV into that outlet or change the setting for the outlet to always on and turning the TV off independently of the STB.

May not be the answer you were looking for - best suggestion I can make.
