Hello,
I am trying to install a TV Tuner on my PC, but my question is
there is coax cable in each room in my apartment, and I have the Set Top Box set in the living room, and the other one is connected to Internet modem
I want to know if all these coax cables are good to run either a Set Top Box or Internet modem, because the guy when first came to install the FIOS service he decided to install the STB in the living room and the mode in my room, so is there a reason for that or it has to be.
Thanks in advance

They can be installed in either room as long as the coax is connected to the fios ONT you will get the signal.

If the TV tuner has a built in QAM tuner you will get the unscrambled channels only but they will not be located on the usual channel numbers.

So saying I have the QAM tune feature built in, so I can watch the regular free channels only right whiout STB
what do you mean by unscrambled channels?

The basic channels are usually unscrambled.

So basically there is no benefit of using it without STB, the only thing is to use it for capturing things

No there is no benefit without a STB or digital adapter from Verizon.
