Two HD Channels Not Working

I am located in Bethesda, MD and yesterday my HD channels 504 and 509 (NBC and CBS) are currently unavailable.

The troubling thing is that they are only unavailable on my DVR box but are working on my other 3 HD boxes.

Called customer service last night and was told of an outage in the area that was likely the problem.  When I questioned why it would work on the other boxes I was told that it was only impacting certain boxes, likely those with the multi room DVR.

He tried resetting the box twice but still having the same problem.  Checked again this afternoon and still not getting those two HD channels.

Any ideas?

I have had this problem for about 6 months now.  We live outside of Baltimore so we get Baltimore and DC affiliates so it is more of an annoyance.  The weird thing is that the problem moves.  It is always with the Baltimore stations.  One month it will be NBC, now it has moved on to ABC.  I called tech support a few months ago and after a little over an hour on the phone with them they had no idea what was wrong.  We have Tivo so it is always fun when one of our season passes records nothing but a black screen.  It gives me confidence that Verizon can't figure out the problem.

It sounds like this issue is specific to the parts of Maryland that carry both DC and Baltimore stations.  It does not affect N. VA.

The TivoHD will integrate local HD channels from an off-air antenna into the same program guide with your FiOS channels.   That gives you the option to record your locals from an antenna until Verizon eliminates this issue in your area.  Good, cheap set-top antennas include the Radio Shack 15-1874 ($11.99) and Cornet 645A ($21.99).  The RS model should work for most stations within 15 miles, while the Cornet should pull in most stations within 30 miles.
