Using TV Turn On Timer

Sony TVs have a time you can use as an alarm clock to wake you up. With Fios, my tv turns on according to schedule, but the Fios start up page shows up, not the channel you had on when you turned the TV off the night before. How can you get Fios not to show you that start up image but go to the last watched channel?

Do you mean the screensaver? The one that floats around?

If so, the just leave stb on. Doesn't save any electricity to turn it off.

Or another channel?

If it is another channel, under menu setting media server power on channel, set to last viewed channel.

Yes the one that floats around. Neither solution fixed it. It doesn't matter if you hit TV or STB the FIOS screensaver floats around until you turn off the TV. When the TV comes on via it's internal alarm, the only thing that appears on the TV is the Fios thing floating around--no sound, no tv channel. Just seems so strange that Fios would engineer a solution that renders TV wake-up timers useless. For the first time in 20 years I have to buy an alarm clock.

I use TV turn on timer all the time.
Works great.

Do you have the TV hooked up to an IPC?

If so, there is also an idle timer that turns box off after a set time.
Check to see if that is on. If so, change it to never.
