I just got a new hdtv and everything else works volume wise, but with the cable its real low. Is there anything I can do to change that?

One thing to check is the volume on the Set Top Box. Go in to the Menu, Settings, Audio, Set-Top Box Volume. Should be up to '30'.

Also, what type of connection are you using?
