Could not find this with search, but why are releases (updates) to DVR/STB done one region at a time and two weeks between each?

OK I am impatient 8^)

From what i've seen, it gives Verizon the oportunity to test the waters so to say.  When a update is released, it gives us an oportunity to make sure all is working well before implementing it all accross the country.  If we find an area in the update that doesnt meet the results were trying to achieve, we can roll back the area effected, rather than having it effect everyone accross the board.

Thanks for the really quick reply 8^)

I would think that selecting one or two regoins would be enough for "User testing".  Or maybe ofter early updates to a wider demographics (region, box type...) to select beta testers.

PS: looking forward to 1.6.2 as it will fix the gripes I have.  An you guys are saving a mess of tech calls, by having the forum and lettling people know what is comming.  At least for me.

Its good that it is done that way because there was a lot of audio issues with 1.6.1 and they had to pull the update. That is why it jumped from 1.6 to 1.6.2.

Well 2 weeks makes sense after the first regions.  The original 1.6.1 had two weeks between each one.  The schedule (IIRC) was almost 3 months to deploy.  The unofficial one for 1.6.2 seems to follow 2 Week, 1 Week, 1 Week....  Schedule which makes sense for limiting damages (with initial two week), and 1 week after to let things settle down for the central call center.

When I posted this I had not correlated the current schedule (unofficial reports of it).
