Loving the Droid!

Just wanted to chime in....

Coming from using Windows Based Devices for the last 8 years or so, I have to say that the Moto Droid (and android 2.0) are great! Being a heavy business user and using an exchange account, I was worried. Being an IT Professional, I had confidence I would be able to figure everything out. Have to say that I am glad that I made the switch, this is so much better than the imagio I used for the last month.

Before this, I used an AT&T 8925 Tilt for nearly 2 years, then early iPaq devices for the prior 6 years or so.

I have already got this setup with all my email accounts, exchange account, calendar, contacts, everything.

It really was just as easy to set this up as the windows mobile based Imagio.

Very Well Done Verizon & Motorola!

Excellent to hear, I'm glad that Android has given you easy access with everything. Enjoy your Droid, and if you have questions, be sure to post here or send a PM to me, I'll be more than willing to help out :smileyhappy:

question about microsoft exchange

I have been on a blackberry for my work email, but wanted to switch (not on company plan), my IT dept says the only devices they support are blackberries and iphones.

They cited potential security risks as why they dont want other devices acessing the network.  He said I could log into our exchange account via the browser, but that they wont help me set up the automatic account.

In just 1 minute I had the automatic exchange set up (toooo easy), but my question are these:

1.  is there any difference between accessing my email through the brower vs the "email" function from a network security standpoint

2.  would they be able to tell the difference on their end, or would they look the same from the IT side?

I am a little **bleep** at those guys, I just feel like they are being lazy, when we clearly have the technology.....  doesnt the Iphone access email the same way the droid does for corporate exchange email?

Without a doubt, take the Droid you purchased back to the store and exchange immediately....
