FIOS fiasco

I AM WASTING AN ENTIRE DAY WITH FIOS MISTAKE?

I had a call from verizon yesterday asking me to try fios. I said no thank you and hung up. I wasn't right here this morning when a man showed up at my house and painted lines from the road up our long driveway, across our neighbors newly paved driveway up to my house. He left a paper thanking me for my fios order and to make sure I marked any places for dog fence, septic, or other lines or they would not be responsible for any damage. It stated I do not have to be home for a private contractor to come and put the underground line in sometime in the next few days. I am more than a bit upset!!

I Called all 3 phone numbers on the paper to straighten it out and got a vague "ok we'll cancel it." I ASKED for an e-mail and or phone conformation of concellation of the underground line but haven't received any. So now I'm wondering if Verizon is going to have my yard and the neighbors driveway dug up while no one is here?!

I want an answer from Verizon a.s.a.p

Just as a heads up, Verizon has no need to go digging up driveways unless they are having a particularly hard time getting the fiber cable to a home. They have a machine that will go right under the driveway.

Verizon seems to have some over-zealous salespeople, who I suspect are not actually their employees, but 3rd party. A friend refuses to ever get FiOS because a salesman called him to order FiOS and he said no, then they called his wife the next day and said "your husband said we just needed your OK".
