Can Two phone lines become one?

Back in 1998, I installed an extra phone line so that I could use my dial-up internet service and work at home and still have phone service.  Now, it is not necessary to have two phone lines. Is there a way to make the two phone lines be one phone line? My phone bill is so expensive and getting rid of one of these lines would help alot.

You should be able to call Verizon and cancel one of the lines with no problem. (Options on their Contact Us page.) Be aware that you probably won't be able to use the phone jacks from line2 once you only have line1 in service without some rewiring.

Going to depend upon how the 2nd line was installed. Normally a 2nd line is installed as the outer pair in an RJ11 jack. (RJ11 actually supports two telephone lines). I.E. the inner pair is telephone line 1, and the outer pair is line 2. However you can have the single line jacks, in which case there will only be a connection on the inner pair, which will be either line1 or line 2.

So if you have 2 line phones, the 2nd line will stop working when you cancel the service. If you don't have 2 lines phones, the phones connected to jacks that are the 2nd line will obviously stop working when the service is canceled.

Had a similar issue got them to become one phone line but now my question is. Can I get dsl on both jacks. One is upstairs one is down stairs. I would like to set up my security cameras in the office upstairs.
