I have a GT784WN DSL modem/router and 2 computers connected via ethernet cables.
They can reach each other for well-known services like SSL, but playing around w/ my own connections I get "no route to host". I suspect Verizon's router will only forward traffic for port #s it knows about. How do I get the router to forward all LAN traffic?

Are you trying to access these computers using their local IP address or are you using a DNS or NETBIOS name to reach these computers?
Are you connecting any sort of VPN on one of the computers?
What firewall is in use?
The ActionTec should not be blocking LAN to LAN traffic. If the connection has to go over the Internet first, then that is where the firewall or NAT on the ActionTec could cause a problem.
