You pay for high speed and you don't even get close to low speed. The internet is slower than a slug trying to cross a 4 lane highway.
Secondly, the customer service calls are 1 to 2 hours wait to report the problem. They set you up with appointments, only for the technician to call you back and cancel the appointment. I can't believe my parents have stayed with them for this long. The operators have even hang up the phone and refused to tranfer you to a superviors to properly handle the issue. I would not refer verizon to no one. I highly sugguest that you rethink your decision before opting to go with verizon.
I'm actually considering a switch to another provider. My rates have gone up but not my internet speeds. It's frustrating to say the least. I'm tired of changing modems or having to be home for a technician. Why can't it just work I wonder?
Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up. It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
