We have Verizon DSL and a D-Link DGL 4500 router. We have about 4 computers on the network and only my computer will lose connection at random times, and for about an hour at a time.
Somebody please help me fix this. Verizon tech support is absolutely NO help.

Based upon your reply, I think I know why.
I have my two IP addresses for this computer reserved.
Change that to one IP Address for your computer reserved.
If that does not help..
#1 In the router go to Advanced -> Advanced Network.
#2 If UPnP in the router is turned on, please turn that off.
#3 In the router go to Advanced -> Access Control.
#4 Is that enabled?

Ok, I just have one reserved, I also bumped up the lease time.
Access control is not enabled.
I will have to wait and see if it works or not.

#1 I know that you are using the reserve feature in the router to set Static IPs.
Do you have a computer setup to use a Static IP manually?
By "manually", I point to http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm
#2 In the router, is the virual server being used?
Advanced -> Virtaul Server
#3 In the router, is the port triggering feature being used?
Advanced -> Special Applications
#4 In the router, in Advanced go to Gaming.
Is that feature in use?
#5 In the router, go to Basic -> Wireless.
a) What WPA mode is it set to (Auto, WPA only, WPA2 only)?
b) What is the cipher type (TKIP and AES, TKIP, AES)?
c) Do not post what your pre-shared is - I do not care (nor do I need to know) what it is...
How long is it (min is 8, max is 63)?
d) Is the schedule set to always?
e) Are you broadcasting or trying to hide SSID (name of network)? They call it, Visibility Status.
f) Is the router set to Enable Auto Channel Scan, or is it set to use certain channel?
#5 In the router go to Tools -> Schedules.
Are there any schedules in there?

In the router, for testing reasons disable port triggering and the gaming feature.
When done testing re-able the rule(s), if you desire to. Then please report back is that makes the issue worse or better.
Please note: This might break the PS3 and the Wow Connection.
