its junk. It’s intrusive and it is hard to remove. You never should have installed it.
if you bought a stand alone version of McAfee it’s still junk. But the install cd does have a removal on it.
windows 10 comes with its own protection software, maleware. Install another and it causes nothing but problems.
Usually best to disable the add-on if it's causing too many issues. The lock-ups occur because McAfee is holding the application up while attempting to perform a scan on e-mail which has been downloaded. Attachments which are things like ZIP Files, PDFs, or executable files can take a good amount of time to scan for anything malicious.
