Interesting, I am having the same issues.

I came in here looking for some answers but it appears that my DSL service is not the only one that is poor.

Thanks for the information Gio. Glad you were able to get that information from a tech. Just as a heads up, some of that information needs to be removed since it contains some circuit identification numbers that an employee can use to find your line with very little error. Plus, much of the info isn't relatvent to us since it's either universal throughout the footprint or is some other information used for showing how your circuit is routing through the network on the backend.

Here's what is very important and what we needed:

[01/04/13 08:22:51] ===&gt\; ADSL Loop Data

[01/04/13 08:22:51]                     Downstream       Upstream

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Relative Capacity       95              89

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Noise Margin            7               9

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Transmit Signal Power   20              12

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Attenuation             49              29

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Interleaved Bit Rate    1728            864      (in use)

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Intr Max Attainable BR  1856            992      (in use)

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Fast Channel Bit Rate   0               0        (not in use)

[01/04/13 08:22:51] Fast Max Attainable BR  1856            992      (not in use)

These statistics are showing that your line is in rough shape. The relative capacity operating beyond 90% is never a good thing and it's showing that your line can be unstable (disconnects routinely), but it also shows you're at the limit as to what speed it can obtain. For your attenuation the signal should be coming in a lot better than that with the chance of getting 2.5Mbps or higher at a rock solid connection, so if a field tech has not stopped down to check your wiring out already and has ruled out your home being the issue, then I would have the line checked. If you can tell us what make and model mode you have, we should be able to help get the Transceiver Statistics from it without needing to have Verizon pull up the information from the backend. We'll need to connect your modem to the NID to see what we can find out about your home's wiring vs. Verizon's wiring.

My issue has been improved since the network people worked on something.  Though for how long, we will see

Spoiler

After many many years and having mostly difficulties with VZ (speed is inconsistent!!)  , onlly getting results when  a complaint was sent to the PUC (http://www.puc.state.pa.us/filing_resources/filing_complaints.aspx) I am forced to move on and change to a better provider.

Unfortunately DSL is only good if a HQ is near the physical adress . So I will contact cust.service asap and see if they have a last solution after paying and paying but never get the promised results.

Ok, so most of the messages on this board are about the unkept promises of DSL speed , so one of my friend just resides near me and i did a test on speed , look at this :

Please please VZ I am paying for unkept promises , I am not here to complain , but you will loose customers if you go on like this ..

The circuit info from that test gave me what I need to test your circuit. It appears to be getting worst. 02/27/13 17:30:39] Downstream Upstream [02/27/13 17:30:39] Relative Capacity 100 86 [02/27/13 17:30:39] Noise Margin 5 8 [02/27/13 17:30:39] Transmit Signal Power 19 12 [02/27/13 17:30:39] Attenuation 49 29 [02/27/13 17:30:39] Interleaved Bit Rate 896 864 (in use) [02/27/13 17:30:39] Intr Max Attainable BR 864 992 (in use) [02/27/13 17:30:39] Fast Channel Bit Rate 0 0 (not in use) [02/27/13 17:30:39] Fast Max Attainable BR 864 992 (not in use) MLT doesn't show any issues with POTs line. ASSIA is lowering your speed because of the low margins.
