Well here is my issue. I upgraded to 7.1mbps on a westell 7500 routed model number A90-750015-07 and I am on software version 5.001.00.02. It took almost 3 weeks to get to this speed, 3 weeks way to long. I finally got the upgrade and The speed on the routers page says 7668mbps, but I am still stuck at a little less then 3mbps, same as it was before the upgrade.
The gentlemen on the phone advised me to "disable my firewall and run a virus scan..." But I am a computer technician so I work with computers all day everyday, and it would seem as if this is on Verizon end, but as with the upgrade I get the runaround 100% of the time.
I told him that on speakeasy's speedtest, speedtest.com, and via downloads I get topped off at about 250kbps. Long story short, with the information given thus far, it has to be verzion, correct? And how can I fix it?

#1 Is Wireless is the westell 7500 routed model number A90-750015-07 enabled?
#2 If so, what level of wireless security is used?
#3 How many computers are behind this router?
#4 Besides your computer(s), is there anything else connected to the router? Xbox, Play Station, Wireless Access Point, Another router...

The highest speed I have ever observed on Verizon DSL with any
modem and any theoretical service was 420 kb/s. I noticed recently
that this download speed is severely choked by upload activity. I
think that's just how fast their stuff runs, although I suppose you
might get lucky. This sort of thing discourages me from thinking
about upgrades.
There are other funnies -- my modem-router's Internet connection
popped off several times today, and right now Verizon can't find
Google.
