Dave DC, thank you for speaking up. It is now May 8, and I have gone for about a week now with no
dropouts. Yeah, whatever the problem was it SEEMS as if MAYBE they fixed it, at least in the Washington DC region.
My feeling is, when something breaks, they have a moral obligation to NOTIFY the paying customers.
"Your service will be intermittent for the next two months because ten of our servers got hacked by some kids
in Lithuania. We have 37 men on the job, and predict it will be fixed no later than Monday. We will be refunding you
17% of your bill for the hours we estimate service will be down, because charging you the full amount for
intermittent service would be fraud, and we are not criminal scumbags."
How hard is that? Rather than say nothing, hide their incompetence, fustrate the **bleep** out of us, cheat us,
lie to us, and waste enormous money and time on both sides with this charade?
Yeah, Comcast and RCN tech support and customer service ALSO suck donkey balls.
Not real sure what we can do. All go on strike? Force them to finally not suck?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue again? I'm in DC and have differing results for 3 different website MTR traces:
verizon.net - ok
google.com - 45% packet loss
yahoo.com - 7% packet loss
I also experience these dropouts about every 10 or 20 minutes..
It seems like the culprit is the connection between
10.1.76.1
and
P0-3-0-3.WASHDC-LCR-21.verizon-gni.net
google and yahoo go through that router, but verizon.net goes through a different router that is OK:
P0-3-0-3.WASHDC-LCR-22.verizon-gni.net

This has been an ongoing problem for almost a year now- they sent us a new modem 5 months agon and was fine for a month or so then right back to slowing down and disconnection repeatedly- maybe if they spen less time pushing something most can't get (FIOS) and fixing their regular system would be better.- have had service over years with several others and this is by far the worst and only time have had constant cut offs and no where can find how to chat with live agent which makes it even worse sonce hard of hearing

I have this problem, too. I'm in Shutesbury, MA, a semi-rural town in the western part of the state.
My Internet access keeps cutting out, sometimes for extended periods (like last night), or at other times, with only a few seconds of connectivity every minute or so. At best, I get several minutes between interruptions lasting several seconds to a couple of minutes. This has been getting worse the past few days.
I have an Actiiontec wireless gateway, model # GT704WG with firmware 3.20.3.3.5.0.9.2.7.1. Which statistics for it do you need to diagnose my problem?
I went to the UseNet site and used the reverse traceeroute tool there. This is what I got:

My Internet access keeps cutting out, sometimes for extended periods (like last night), or at other times, with only a few seconds of connectivity every minute or so. At best, I get several minutes between interruptions lasting several seconds to a couple of minutes. This has been getting worse the past few days.
I have an Actiiontec wireless gateway, model # GT704WG with firmware 3.20.3.3.5.0.9.2.7.1. Which statistics for it do you need to diagnose my problem?
#1 Go to Status tab on second one over from left on the top.
#2 For example of what Transceiver Statistics looks like, here is another user's Transceiver Statistics from this modem.

Noise Margin [dB] 13.0 10.7
Transmit Signal Power [dBm] 15.5 12.2
Attenuation [dB] 17.3 10.1

Unfortunately, my last post lost all its formatting, and some of the text when I posted it. I guess I should have used rich text rather than HTML, and previewed it. The missing text near the end said that I had filled in the reported numbers for the only three data items for which up- and downstream statistics were included in the report. Unfortunately it wouldn't allow me to copy and paste the actual statistics.
