Can you logon to router to limit who can view IP camera's?

Sine for whatever reason no one seems to have the IP administrator username and password to logon to the IP address for the monitor and control camera's I am wondering if maybe there is a way to keep just anyone from viewing the camera's by being on the network? A way of limiting the access to the IP camera's to only those who can logon to the router or Verizon monitor and control website portal? I have checked with support from Verizon, I have looked at the manufactures website for support and have even looked and posted these very questions under monitor and control boards. I am sure it's just me being impatient but I don't seem to be getting any support in any direction I am taking. So I am figuring since the IP camera's tie into a gateway and that gateway into the router there has to be something I can do to secure it from the router side of things since it all ties together and into the router being the ending so far as hardware goes that is. Please help

You are making users who reply to your post, shoot into the dark.

It would help to know the brand and model of this router.
