phone is not working . cant receive or make phone calls. went to fios box and battery needs replacement ligt was a solid red.

That red light just means the battery needs replacing. That won't have anything to do with your service not working. But that same unit might also be bad and need to be replaced. You should probably call in to schedule a repair.
