"Spam" phone calls

Recently many of the spam phone calls that I am receiving are listed on caller ID as doctors offices, realtors, schools, even the police station.   Is there a way to stop this?

If you are speaking of home phone there is the nomorerobo feature for your phone.

https://www.nomorobo.com

There is also a version for your cellular cellular phone if needed.

verizon also is going to bring an app for these spoofed calls but I believe for wireless.

like the article I read it said a free and a $2.99 a month plus tax version which should actually be free but Verizon will charge for.
