It's been a very frustrating and costly adventure so far. When I first ordered my FiOS bundle, Digital Voice was not available in my area. Upon talking to various Verizon reps, I went ahead and signed up for the landline hoping to convert to Digital Voice to rip the benefits, plus be able (only then) to port my Vonage phone # to Verizon.
After many agonizing hours on the phone with various reps, the issue is still not resolved and now I'm told I can't convert to Digital Voice, unless I cancel my entire contract, eat the termination fee and start all over.
Any similar experiences out there? Any advice?

I have FIOS service, and have since decided that I would prefer Digital Voice. It was never available in my area of Pittsburgh, PA, and I was always given a target date of November, 09. In 11/09, I was told that Digital Voice will no longer be offered to anyone that didn't already have it.
Someone from Verizon??? Can you confirm??
