I am having The same problem!!! I called Verizon!!! !@#$% what frustration!!! Tiffany (The customer service rep) kept telling me The same things over and over again. She said there was no one else to talk with, there was nothing to be done...etc., etc., etc.
I have done The do not call list.
The numbers that are calling me are not valid numbers..It should be easy!!! to check and see if The calling number is valid or not!!!
Verizon is just giving The clear sign that they DO NOT CARE!!!

You SHOULD contact your representative in Congress as the FCC & FTC have no solution to this annoyance. The DoNotCall registry is the biggest joke in Washington DC and should not get any more funding until they come up with a solution to telemarketing robo calls.
REALLY! A phone number on my caller id {edited for privacy} comes through! Not blocked by anonymous call rejection! Or the tech support specialist displayed as '11004' that wants me to go over to my computer and allow him remote access to FIX a Problem....a problem that I don't have nor would allow a stranger to access on my home computer. NO, REALLY?
I want a button to hit to send these calls IMMEDIATELY to a Trace to be shut down. Asking politely to Opt-Out doesn't work nor does the DNC registry. Researching the number on 'Who Is' can sometimes give you info but usually it just confirms that YES, This TeleMarketer has been reported.
And NO, I don't want my Chimney cleaned, I don't need new windows, I have NO creditcard debt and mortgage is Paid In Full so you can't really lower my rate now can you Rachel? (AND HER COUSIN HEATHER, TOO)

When I made the switch to FIOS a little over a year ago we decided that we did NOT want to keep the home phone connected and wanted to pare it down to just our cell phones. Verizon pushed us hard to take the home phone and even pointed out the it is cheaper to bundle the 3 services (Cell, phone, and TV) than to just take 2. I guess this should have been a red flag, but I agreed and kept the phone services. Pretty shortly after that the spam calls started ramping up. We are on the DNC list for all numbers we have. Finally we just disconnected the phone. We had over 85 solicitors call last month. We had not one legitimate call. Everyone that knows us calls on our cell phones. Once our contract is up next January we most likely will go back to cable (time warner) as they did not push the phone service.
It makes me wonder if Verizon is selling a list of phone numbers and that is why they push so hard to keep that service going. I have no proof of that, but I got to wonder why they would charge less to have you keep your phone than to disconnect it?

Exact same story. Switched our service back to Verizon (because they DO have the best coverage) and now incessant spam calls. Verizon must think all people are completely ingnorant about tech. It would be a very simple solution for them to block these calls. They have logs of EVERY phone call going out and coming in and it would be easy to write an algorithm to identify and block these calling programs. There must be profit in it for them. I am really getting sick of this. I am on Do Not call since 2006, Installed NOMOROBO and have anonymous call block on but at least 8 spam calls get through a day on each of my phones.
