Verizon wireless killed my credit by adding a collection record

There was a Verizon cellphone number, it belonged to my previous company. My previous company assigned the cellphone to me for daily work. And last year, my previous company transferred the phone number to me when I was in a foreign country. I failed to update my personal email to the Verizon account, and I even didn’t know the detail account number.  I failed to pay the number. Now when I am back I just find my credit was killed by a Verizon wireless collection account. I contacted the collection agency at once and made a 100% payment. But my credit report still show I haven’t pay the collection account. Is there anyone knows when will my credit report be updated? And anything else I can do for restoring my credit score ?
