A few suggestions for the forums:

Don't know if I should post this and expect much of a change, but I thought I'd add my two cents to improve some things on the forums:

  • Add a "General Discussion" forum. There are a lot of people who go on here on a day-to-day basis. It only makes sense that all of us have something to talk about aside from phones/FiOS.
  • Take away the 1-Hour requirement to make changes to posts. It allows us to correct grammar/spelling mistakes, to add/remove certain things we feel unecessary/necessary, and with stickied posts, we don't always have to run to a Mod to ask for assistance.
  • I like the idea of everyone making blogs, it allows us to join at one place so that we can read each other's thoughts/comments on a certain subject we chose.
  • Make reporting posts a bit easier. Perhaps an icon at the top coner of each post with an "!" sign or something similar would be nice.

I'll add more as I think of some.

Cheers!

I've wanted a "general dicussion" forum, but it called Lounge instead. I mentioned it to one of the mods in PM because it has been talked about in the past. I think that the reason there is no one is to not have so much clutter.  Personally it would be nice to have something like that to just talk about random things....music,jokes,trips,favoriate video....etc

  • Take away the 1-Hour requirement to make changes to posts. It allows us to correct grammar/spelling mistakes, to add/remove certain things we feel unecessary/necessary, and with stickied posts, we don't always have to run to a Mod to ask for assistance.  I find an hour is sufficient - in fact, I re-read it and usually correct stuff within a couple of minutes.  With stickied posts, maybe, though I do search for things I remember seeing, and if someone has edited their post, say days later, then I woudn't be able to find what I'm looking for.
  • I like the idea of everyone making blogs, it allows us to join at one place so that we can read each other's thoughts/comments on a certain subject we chose. This could be fun - I spend my time here on certain boards, and not on others, because I have cell phone service , but not FIOS or landline service.  But getting to know other who spend time helping foks here, on topics other than phones/FIOS, would be interesting.
  • Make reporting posts a bit easier. Perhaps an icon at the top coner of each post with an "!" sign or something similar would be nice.  I thought the blue text link for reporting posts is pretty straighforward....it gets results quickly, that's for sure, and it can't get easier than clicking the link, IMO.

I'll add more as I think of some.

Cheers!

I know, it would be nice to see the forums be a little more community-centric.

@Suzy, Yeah I understand whatcha mean. Do you think a general forums would be nice for the rest of us?

The T-mobile forums have a Lounge and the AT&T forums have a Lounge (under community discussion) too.  So nice to have....

Yeah, I mean I wouldn't be all for it...But they could add a "No Kudos, No Increased Post Count" section where we can just either babble about really petty stuff, or have good conversation.

I think it'll spice up the lack of good conversation that happens around 😕

Naturally, I have to disagree with the idea of a "Lounge". It creates an environment for mindless drivel and nonsense. Most importantly I think it would detract from the overall focus of this particular forum, which is strictly peer-to-peer support.

Plus I think it would create more opportunity for people to post their question on the wrong board and create more clutter by leaving the post behind after Mods move it to the proper section.

I've been opposed to this before and I will continue to be. I think if you want to create a "lounge" area then create one yourself - on a different website. If the users here really care enough to chit-chat with one another then they can care enough to go congregate somewhere else.

Not to be crass or anything, I just want everyone to stay focused on the matter at hand - VZW products, services and related issues. Not lounging.
