CANNOT OPEN EMAIL ATTACHMENTS - COMPUTER FREEZES UP

I cannot open email attachments the computer freezes.  Also cannot delete emails

another user here had a slightly different problem, but the fixes could be similiar.  If you're PC is full on freezing though, you may want to go the extra mile and download a few spyware checkers.

I like to use

• Malware Bytes
• Super AntiSpyware
• Verizon Mcafee Security Scan (free 3 time use)

I would download and install all three, make sure to update them before using, and then run them only one at a time, and be patient.  Your PC may be infected (that's why it may be running slow) or you may not have enough processing power for whatever reason.

You should also update and run your antivirus software.

If you don't have one on your machine, then try downloading one.

People will have various suggestions, Verizon Offers a good one from Mcafee for 5.99 a month and it covers 3 PC's. If you have that and still have a virus after running it, they may be able to help you remove it over the phone.

If you don't feel like paying for one, then you should try one of the free choices out there. the big difference is that if it doesn't fix it, then you don't have a lot of options for people to call for free over the phone help, you're pretty much on your own with the free ones.

Here are some suggestions for that. (don't download multiple antivirus's, pick and choose one - install/update/scan)

• comodo internet security **recommended
• avg
• avira

HAVING SAID ALL THAT, without downloading anything, try the below steps first. 

• Clear your Cache and Cookies
• Run Internet explorer with no add-ons

• Try a 2nd Browser like Google Chrome or Firefox (possible browser issue can be identified by testing in a 2nd browser)
• Test it from a 2nd machine like a laptop, friends or work computer
