HP Mediasmart WHS servers and the FIOS router...Help!

Would someone kindly step me through what I need to do to use the remote access feature with Mediasmart behind the Westell FIOS router? I've been on the phone with tech support for both Verizon and HP and find them evasive and vague at best.

I had found some time ago reference to the port forwarding changes and made them as well as I could approximate, but the settings seem not to stick and my remote access has been intermittent.

Since you said that, I think I know why.

Points to

portforward.com -> forum -› Knowledge Base -› How to choose a Static IP address

Be sure to setup a static IP outside of the DHCP range of the router, and forward to that IP Address.
