Is cable faster?

Next time I call tech support I will also call the cable co. to see who responds faster and who is more flexible on scheduling.

Over 45 minutes of hold time is ridiculous.

If you mean as far as Internet is concerned? No. Cable terminates at Fiber eventually, from there it's Fiber to wherever which could then be anything (another bottleneck). As for support? Likely. Cable companies seem to play the tactics of more local call centers these days. It's a smart idea to say the least, since you've at least got some better tuning for the area when it comes down to support but not all are perfect, and the 24/7 support will still be mass handled in central call centers.

You may wish to consider the Live chat. Word has it, the chatb does a better job as far as the waiting game is concerned. The techs there also seem a little more well equipped. That is, if your Internet is working.
