If I were to BUY the latest Actiontec MI424WI that Verizon is offering, would my monthly fee be reduced when I return my current one?

If you were paying the fee for rental, it would go away.

I have a "triple bundle". Unaware if a portion of that is for current router rental.

Nope seperate fee that shows up on your bill.  ONly fairly recently for new customers.

Verizon leases the router for $5 per month which you should see on your bill.

Thank you, SinCara.  I have had FIOS for a number of years, so I guess that I am "grandfathered".  I have no router rental fee, and also have three free digital to analog converters for my older TVs.  Also, I don't plan to buy a Verizon router if it won't lower my monthly fee - not even the newer one.  I have had an 802.11n access point for a couple of years.  I just purchased a 802.11ac  dual band router that my new iPhone 6 can access.  I have yet to set it up - because it won't be as easy to set up as the access point was, since I'll have to disable DHCP on one or the other.  I'm a retired, not very well versed, trial and error guy, but I'll eventually figure it out. This stuff keeps me busy, and I enjoy playing with it so that I can keep up with my techie grandchildren. 🙂
