Slow upload

I recently got the 25m/15m. I have 4 computers in my house, and all of them get the full 25/15, except for mine which only gets 25/4. All computers are hardwired, no wifi. I have tested the cable running into my computer by plugging in 2 laptops into it, and oddly, one laptop has the same issue as this computer, getting only 25/4 while the other is fine and getting the full 25/15. I'm not sure if this could be a hardware limitation, or if there are some settings that are limiting my up. Tests are being done using speedtest.net, always the same server, so that is not an issue.

If local to one PC... it is a PC issue, not a Verizon issue

Yes i am aware its from my computer, but why this computer and not the others? has anyone else had this problem? is it hardware or software?

here's a good place to start, what is different about this pc than the others that don't have the problem, have you tried using a different cable, have you booted into safe mode so no other programs could interfere?

Ive already ruled out the cable as other computers with this cable work and this comp on other cable still has the same problem. Safe mode also doesnt help. What's interesting is that this is happening with my computer as well as one of my laptops, but not the others.... i might pop in a different network card into this computer tomorrow to rule out hardware for sure....

Please advise if the new NIC card resolved the issue and if you would, include the brand/model of the NIC card that you replaced. Thanks!

Network card didnt help. The one i have is built into my motherboard and its on the nforce-4 chipset. The other one i tried was a linksys. Both have the same issue, as well as my thinkpad x61. I'm almost positive it is a software issue at this point, im gonna try to put a fresh windows install on another hdd and see if that helps.

yup, look up in the thread, i quoted you saying i did. It's odd that it didnt work since im almost positive its a software issue at this point. I'll be sure to know once i put on a fresh windows install. In the meantime, any suggestions for tweaking settings?

If it were me I would try running an os off of the cd rom drive, like knoppix and see if you get the same speed results there too.
