Turn off old Router's Wireless Signal?

I installed a new Quantum Router. Can I turn off the Wi-Fi signal on our old Actiontec Router and just use it as a Ethernet Hub for our non-wireless printer?

Yes.  Just login to the router and go to the wireless settings page.  You can easily turn of WiFi from there.

You'll also want to turn the router into a bridge and disable it's DHCP server, otherwise it will create a new network and none of your computers on the existing network will be able to see devices plugged into the router.

Here are some instructions that will help you:

If you leave the WiFi enabled on the Actiontec and set it to the same SSID and password as the main router, you'll have created a 2.4GHz access point that will enhance coverage.  That's what I did with my old router.

Enjoy.

Yes, you can turn off wifi on the Actiontec.   That should make no difference as long as you don't need the Actiontec's wifi for additional wifi coverage in that part of your home.
