MavTv, YouToo, Blackbelt TV and Blue Highways are all being removed from Verizon FiOS on 12/31.
Good riddance to all. Never watched one of them. Hope this means some better channels are coming.

I don't see anything stopping this. Verizon probably made the decision based on ratings vs. cost, and probably lots of requests for new channels they don't currently have room for. I think 3 foreign language channels are going too, and those probably have very few subscribers. While Verizon could add a couple HD channels that people have been clamoring for, they very well might add something no one is asking for and leave us scratching our heads as they have done in the past.

Or FEARNet HD. Also, the HALOGEN channel is being removed from the EXTREME package.

I just started watching Youtoo this weekend. Really not a bad channel, but not sure that it shows anything that I can't find on YouTube or similar place.......well, other than the hostesses!
Seriously though, I don't think I can argue with them dropping the channel - most shows only show a short video clip (no more than a few minutes), back to the hostess, and then a couple of minutes of commercials!
In a way it's just as bad as YouTube making you watch a 15-30 ad before watching a 2 minute video.....and we thought TV was bad!
So, goodbye Shandi, Mikalah, and KipKay videos (and that stupid cat!)......catch you on the interwebs!

Viewership on these channels is infinitesimal. They're going largely because Verizon is having to pay more and more money to sports providers.
Youtoo I had some hope in, that it would recoup the old TechTV model. While I think it's attempting that, the quality of talent on there is completely laughable. The hosts are so bad.
