Can't get truTV on my iPad, but can on my TV

I have no trouble getting truTV in my Verizon FIOS television, but when I try to get it online (so I can watch NCAA bball games on my iPad), I receive a message that my subscription does not include truTV.  Is this possible?  If my subscription does not include truTV, why am I receiving it on my television?
