Can I user a regular ESATA drive to expand my storage?  Has anyone accomplised this? If so I'm having some issues?

You really need an AV rated drive since it needs to run 24/7 (the drive is never off on a DVR regardless of if you have "turned off" the DVR).  Can't have a power down / sleep mode and must have sufficient throughput rate (>= 100 Mb/s if I recall).  Some have had success, but most I'm aware of use the recommended WD 1T drive (I've been using for nearly a year now with no issues - some reports of bad eSATA cables supplied by WD from others).
