Guide Inaccuracies

When I set my DVR for the "Pillars of the Earth" series only 2 weeks were recorded. I missed the third. When I checked out the reason I found that the Guide had the shows renamed "THE pillars of the Earth". Why would that be and how can it be fixed for any future series that I record.  I now have both titles in the series manager.

Verizon gets the guide data from a third party -- for some reason the third party provider must have change the "series name".   This is one of my main complaints about guide data and I'm hopeful that Verizon will find a new partner some day that has better quality information.   You'll also find that series often have repeat episodes listed as first run causing the re-recording of shows you may have already watched or recorded.

If your program is at the same time, day, and channel every week (or every day), you can set up a manual series recording. It won't use the guide, however it won't label the recording with the title either.

Not completely accurate.  It won't show the title in the schedule, but it will have the program title after recording .

My mistake.....

It didn't show the title when I used it, just "Manual recording"; but then the DVR I was using had no access to the guide at the time.
