HDMI Signal Turns To Snow On Motorola HD QIP 7100 1

i got my first hd tv Panasonic VIERA TC-L37DT30 about a month ago..ive had fios for almost a year got hd boxes from the start now with the new tv i have it hooked up via hdmi and 3 times so far at random times ive lost signal and the screen is all white snow i know its the cabel box cause it doesnt happen on any other inputs and when it does happen the channel the box is on stays on the box instead of the time almost like its consistently trying to get the signal back

 

i googled this after it started and it seems to be a pretty common problem with these fios boxes so what im posting to ask is there any resolution to this i dont want to use component i want hdmi so i have one single cable is there any new box i can get in the brooklyn 11223 area that solves this issue

 

all advice greatly welcome trying to figure out how to handle it

For me turning the DVR/STB off and on again seems to fix it.  Essentially re handshakes between box and TV.
