I have no clue where you are located, but here in North Texas my picture is just fine on 588.

Its been over a week and channell 588 - NFL Network channel is not working - the sound goes in and out an the pixels are all over the screen.  I called Verizon twice - they say its the NFL Network itself - the non-HD channell 88 works file.  Verizon said they are going to place a ticket with the NFL Network and should get back to me in 24-48 hours

My STB was not showing NFL channel yesterday but it's not just limited to the NFL Network CHannel.  Anytime I turn on my DVR and a channel refuses to play, I have to go to the auto-correct tool for the STB and wait for it to run the correction and reboot.  After the reboot the missing channel usually shows up again.  I also have instances where recordings won't start, it just continues to show the channel I was watching even though it says the recording is playing.  Once again, the auto-correct has to be run with a reboot.

I sometimes have to run this daily, but usually only 3 or 4 times a week.  It's just the nature of the poorly programmed equipment we have to use.  There is no solution other than to wait for Verizon to catch up with the rest of the DVR world or to go get a Tivo and send your FiOS box back in.

Actually, there is another solution that you apparently have not tried.  The symptoms you speak of (a single channel reliability problem) are often caused by a poor coax connector or splitter that can be fixed by removing and reseating all connectors, expecially the one at the back of the STB.  If your STB continues with a problem, report it to Verizon and allow them to send you a new STB.  Since many of us have few if any problems with the FiOS DVR, you assertion about the "nature" of the equipment is not supported by the experience of those of us that don't have your problems.
