This has been happening for months. Out of the blue a channel I'm watching starts to pixelate and then it just freezes. I've reset the box already, losing all my settings. So sick of this. Is there a reason why this happens or a way to make it stop?

What do you mean reset? Power off and back on?
Or reset via menu?
what model stb do you have?
Have you checked coax connections? Start at ont and make sure everything is tight.

I've done both. And I've checked the coax, everything is tight. If there was a problem with the coax, it wouldn't just be random channels, would it? Wouldn't that affect everything?
The box is a 7232

Do you have more than one box?
If so, is it happening on all?
If not on all, try swapping boxes around to see if problem follows box or location.
Coax issue could be affecting all channels at times.
But if you are only watching one, you wouldn't know if it was affecting other channels.
I saw a post a while back where someone found that the coax had been chewed outside.
It came in under their deck and didn't notice until they started checking.
It could also be the box is starting to fail.
7232s are quite old.
