I called Verizon, the tech told me to switch to HDMI1 using the remote that came with the TV (not the Verizon remote). That worked.

i know this is old but your problem was solved by CRobGauth in the first reply to your original post... at least give him a kudos if you can't mark his post as the solution, no?

This may not be the Amazon Fire forum but the issues people are having connecting their fire sticks are Verizon-related because of the modems we have been given. I haven't had any problems using it with other service providers. If Verizon values their customers, they will give us a solution

Amazon Fire TV Stick and connecting wirelessly

I have a fire stick and can't connect wirelessly. I see the network and it alternates on the screen between "very good" strength and "out of range". All my other devices connect with no problem including the smart tv that I am connecting the free stick to, but this won't connect.  Other friends have had an issue at first but with their dual band routers, if you connect to the other network, it works fine. I don't know what to do. Maybe get a router different from the one Verizon provides?
