I reported this to a couple techs and even provided video to show what was happening. It always happens during a commercial and it seems to be a Verizon inserted commercial.
So far no one has told me there is a fix for this. It would be nice to hear some feedback from Verizon, but nothing.

Although I appreciate the advice... That does nothing to solve the problem. Once I have a recording with the issue I can recreate it at will.

A temp fix is to powercycle the DVR (unplug for at least 45 seconds) and then plug back to allow the DVR to refresh its programmimg, or, call tech support and have them reload the programming. the cause of the issue has to be local, otherwise it would happen to everybody. with that said, try re-seating all coax cable at both ends of each cable. The coax going to the dvr from the wall, the coax from the wall back to the splitter, the coax from the splitter back to the ont. realize that the more connections there are (more splitters, junction boxes, etc.) the greator the chances will be that the coax connections would be an issue.
