Switch to xfinity. No service at Verizon

I pay big bucks every month. My dvr is making noise and I have been trying to upgrade. The verizon site loads my info for hours. No one answers the phone. The online site is worse than healthcare.gov. Do I need to switch to xfinity to get any satisfaction!!!!!!!!!!!!
