Does anyone know the life of the battery backup? Or I should say how long before Verizon refuses to replace it? The battery backup that we have was here prior to us buying the house. So technically, I feel we should of received a new one when we started our service. The told us they could send us one for 40 some dollars, or they could send a tech out which would result in a service call and they could not guarantee that they would have one on their truck. Really?? I am not going to nit pick, the way I look at it, it is strike one, two more strikes and Verizon is out, and back to Brighthouse for us!

Looks like it's about a year on the warranty
I found that battery pretty cheap at amazon.com
about 12-15 bucks.
Also try rebooting the ont, it might be a false negative.
If you do that and the beeping stops, then it was just a false negative and you don't have to replace the battery yet.

At Amazon you have choices:
Get a cheaper battery and save some money.
Or get the same battery Verizon sells for about the same (after shipping). But the Amazon battery comes with a 3 year warranty.
